A Message from the President:

Welcome to the official site of the Association of Boxing Commissions, "ABC". The ABC draws its membership from state and tribal boxing commissions from the United States and Canada. I hope you will find this website a useful tool to you which provides information on the regulation of boxing in the US and Canada. Contact information for each boxing commission which is a member of the ABC can be found on this website.  I hope that you enjoy the new look to our website. We recently added extra space to provide more information and an update scheduled official’s training seminars.

We have recently added a new feature to our website which lists the medical requirements for each commission in the United States and Canada. If you are a boxer over the age of 35, please contact the individual commissions for additional medical requirements.

The annual convention in Montreal was a huge success.  It was well attended by over 120 commissioners and guests.  The ABC membership adopted two documents which will be up on the website very soon.  The two documents are recommendations that member commissions follow regarding Mixed Martial Arts, details to follow.

The membership was introduced to Kirik Jeness and Gabe Smallman who are the new mixed martial arts record keepers, www.mixedmartialarts.com.  For those who were unable to attend, please contact either Kirik or Gabe for a password to enter the secured website.  Please provide feedback when using the new system and remember the system will only be as good as the information we input regarding our regulated fights.

John McCarthy also provided a training seminar for all Mixed Martial Arts Judges and Referees to over 50 people from the United States and Canada.

Please mark your calendar for the 2009 convention to be held July 28 – August 1, 2009, at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Louisiana.

I hope that you will use this website as a quick information source regarding the regulation of combative sports in the United States and Canada.  Please provide feedback to me regarding any suggested changes to make the website more user friendly.
